About Marion
I have played the flute for 44 years and taught 37 of those years. I studied classical, jazz, and world music for my BFA at CalArts and contemporary classical for my MA at UCSD.
I have experience in playing in pop and rock bands, (played with Duran Duran once!) , in orchestras, bands and classical ensembles, as well as electroacoustic music. I am also a low flutes specialist and have taught alto, bass and contrabass flute players for about 24 years.

I like to teach to your specifications with a classical base, also focusing on tone production and the fundamentals of music.
I have taught students young and old for 37 years. Most of my current students are adults, but I have some high school students and beginners who range in age from 10 to 50. I also specialize in low flutes, jazz and improvised music.
