About Louisa
I’ve been teaching English for nearly ten years, following an earlier career in nursing—both roles reflecting my deep commitment to supporting others. Outside of work, I also volunteer as an English tutor, driven by my understanding of how essential clear and confident communication is for many people. In addition to this, I’m a true word-nerd with a passion for etymology. I find the evolution of language and the stories behind words genuinely fascinating, and I’m always eager to share that enthusiasm with others.

Whatever your goals, feel free to get in touch. I offer tailored online lessons for adults (16+) that focus on building both skills and confidence. With years of experience in English language teaching, I can quickly identify areas for improvement and design lessons that support your personal and professional objectives.
A typical 60-minute conversation lesson begins with a brief warm-up to review what we covered in the previous session. We then move on to the day’s topic, where you'll first share what you already know before being introduced to new vocabulary and language structures. You'll have the chance to practise using this new language—initially with guided support and then more independently—so we can assess your understanding together. We’ll wrap up with a lighter, topic-related activity that allows you to use your newly acquired language in a more natural, relaxed way.
