About Jin
I am a Chinese language tutor with over 7 years of teaching experience, working with students from Kindergarten to Secondary school. I have taught both 1-to-1 students and group classes of up to 8 students, and previously worked full-time as a Tutor and Curriculum Specialist at a tuition center, where I taught more than 14 classes and developed lesson plans and interactive learning materials.
I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Chinese at NTU with a GPA of 4.53/5.00. I achieved A* for PSLE Chinese and A2 for O-Level Higher Chinese, ranking top in my school from Secondary 1 onwards.
As someone with a Chinese cultural background who grew up in Singapore, I understand both Chinese culture and the bilingual environment Singaporean students experience. I believe this helps me connect with students and understand their learning needs and perspectives.

My teaching approach is personalized and goal-oriented. I first identify a student's weaknesses, learning habits and areas for improvement, then tailor my lessons accordingly. I believe Chinese learning should go beyond memorizing vocabulary and grammar, so I incorporate culture, history, real-life experiences and interactive activities to make lessons more engaging and meaningful.
For younger students, I use games, visual materials and interactive activities to maintain their interest. For older students, I focus more on comprehension, writing, discussion and application. While I am patient and approachable, I also set clear expectations and targets for each lesson so that students can see their progress and gradually become more confident and independent learners.
