About Jess
I have over 5 years experience tutoring VCE Psychology, English, Health, PE and Biology, as well as VELS English. I utilize the skills and knowledge I have acquired from completing VCE, in conjunction with my university studies and qualifications, to provide high quality tutorials to help my students excel. I am very passionate about education, and believe that every student has the ability to succeed with the right tools and resources. In addition to being an experienced tutor, I have been a bedside nurse since 2021, working in the fields of Oncology/Haematology and Anesthetics. I chose this pathway so I could pursue my goal of becoming a public health clinician. In 2023, I was accepted into the prestigious Masters of Public Health program. Part of my scope of practice is to provide health education to patients, with the express aim of improving health literacy. Thus, education has continued to be a key component of my role.

Hi there!
My name is Jess and I am a dedicated and experienced VCE Psychology, English and Health Sciences tutor. I am very passionate about education, and love helping students reach their full potential.
VCE results & qualifications:
I completed VCE with an ATAR of 99.25, achieving all study scores above 44, including a perfect 50 in Psychology, 48 in English, 48 in Health & HD, and 46 Physical Education, among others.
I have over 5 years of tutoring experience; in 2024, I assisted 11 VCE students with VCE English, Psych and Health.
In addition, my tutorials are further informed by my clinical expertise in health, as well as my tertiary studies. In 2023, I was accepted into the Masters of Public Health program. I am also a Division 1 registered nurse with AHPRA, working in anaesthetics and oncology. I have a passion for linguistics and literature, and studied an Arts (Psychology) Degree by coursework prior to enrolling in my BN. Throughout my academic career, I achieved exemplary university results, attaining a High Distinction (HD) average (85%). I have also received many accolades, including the Dean’s Commendation and the National Pearson Award for Excellence in Tertiary Psychology.
As a former VCE high achiever and experienced tutor, I am very familiar with the updated VCAA (VCE) study designs and curriculum. In addition, my extensive university studies in fields such as the psychology, arts, nursing science, public health, human biology, pharmacology and neurosciences have given me an excellent breadth of knowledge and expertise in the subjects I tutor.
My tutoring style:
I utilise a strengths-based approach to learning, where I focus on identifying and employing skills and resources, which can be harnessed to improve performance.
My tutes are highly organised and structured around flexible lesson plans I've created, based on the VCAA study design. However, I also endeavour to ensure sessions are collaborative, engaging, and individualised for each student. I do not believe in a one size fits all approach to education; every student is unique! Thus, at the first session, I work one-on-one with each student to identify their tutoring goals and personal strengths, which helps me create a learning plan to guide future sessions. To supplement learning, I share a plethora of resources with my students. I create my own PowerPoints, posters, diagrams, drawings, videos, practice SACs, exams and subject notes, which I use in the session.
I also share many study techniques that I have acquired through my VCE and university studies, which have contributed to my results. For instance, I focus on workshopping exam and SAC answers to maximise marks, providing tips and tricks for writing effective notes, and sharing tools to enhance memorisation and comprehension of content.
I offer sessions in 60, 90 and 120 minute blocks.
