About Erika
Teaching is a quiet process that often reveals more about the tutor than the student. I admit that I find the most joy in simplifying arithmetic and algebra for those who feel overwhelmed by numbers. My PhD from Stanford University provides the analytical framework I use to assist board exam students and intermediate learners. True math fluency requires a visual connection to the abstract symbols on the page. I recall watching a student suddenly see how calculus relates to the real world through a simple graph. My sessions rely on concept maps shared for every chapter to help you organize your thoughts.
I use my PhD training to make geometry and SAT math prep accessible for advanced learners. It is quite rewarding to watch a student master a concept they once thought was impossible.
