About Christian
I have just returned from studying Environmental fluid mechanics in France, so I know what technical skills are current and required in the professional sector. I have tutored my classmates ensuring they get 1st class degrees, and have been described as an "excellent and concise teacher" by peers and students alike! I believe lessons are only engaging if you understand the purpose of the lesson, and where it applies in professional/work-based environments. Thus applicability will be emphasised greatly in my classes.
I believe you can learn anything, you just need someone to explain it to you in your language!

What I consider as some of the hardest subjects to have students engage in, can be the most rewarding and satisfying for the student. However in my experience during high school studies, they are not taught in a particularly engaging way. Therefore as motivation is low, good results are often difficult to achieve.
I structure my lessons in a way where the students can see the application of the topic by merely looking out the window; whether it be the links between trigonometric identities and the clouds in the sky, or differential calculus and the temperature dynamics of a room! Method-application is a crucial element of maths and physics, as the greatest minds in history have previously determined ("The book of nature is written in the language of mathematics" - Galileo Galilei). Therefore, I like to first provide the student with the opportunity of guiding the lessons to where they feel they need attention. From there, we will work on the foundations of said knowledge gaps, addressing motivational issues ("why am I studying this stuff?!"), until the student has the upmost confidence in applying the skills taught. Most importantly though, the student knows why they are being taught it!
You have everything at your disposal to be amongst the greatest minds in history. You just have to be shown the door!

I set the cost of travel to be £0.50 /km. If I am driving 20km to a students house, I will charge £20.00 extra (40 * 0.5) to each lesson fee.
