Enthusiastic French tutor with 20+ years' experience teaching all ages from primary to 80-year-olds for exams, fun and conversation

For a number of years, Abigail came to our French conversation group for those of an advanced age. She was very enthusiastic, and her French was up to date! She made the sessions very enjoyable but still taught us how to say things as the French themselves would do.

I have known Abigail for around 11 years. She has tutored myself and my 3 children in a variety of subjects, including Primary age Science, History, Spanish and French. My son most recently studied Spanish with Abigail. He is confident that he could travel through Spain, converse, order a room, food and drink. I would definitely recommend Abigail, she uses a variety of techniques, such as games and puzzles, to make the sessions challenging but fun.

I have known Abigail for over 10 years both as an excellent language tutor and also as a trusted friend.
I belong to a small group of retired semi-geriatric hooligans, 65 to 90 years of age, who meet regularly for sessions of speaking French and discussing French language and literature.
To prevent us from relapsing into Franglais, we had the benefit of Abigail's linguistic and teaching skills to discipline us grammatically and to help us avoid the excessive use of the subjunctive.

Her clear explanations and introductions to modern colloquial French have been of great help to us all. Her ability to relate the realities of modern French life to our formal historic use of French has benefited all of our group.

Her sessions with us have been well received due to her very good lesson preparation and understanding of our group's wide experiences of life.
Having been an Avionics Technical instructor for most of my working life, it is good to be taught by a professional.

I've known Abigail for a decade at this point. I don't see her so much anymore (I have moved away) but am still in touch.

We met when I first started to homeschool my children. I was a rabbit caught in headlights with no clue as to where to begin. She was so helpful in guiding me to resources and she was also leading a group at the time which we joined.

She has continued to be someone who readily jumps in to assist with any educational (or indeed social) opportunities for so many children and is in an admin position for a couple of local educational groups. She is a font of knowledge, professional and children respect her because she speaks to them with respect and understanding.

I would have no hesitation in using her to teach my children and recommending to others.

I've known Abi since she was a small child. She's always had an interest in languages. She has taught my grandchildren and husband French at varying ages and levels, making it interesting for them. She really knows her subject and gets to know her students to teach them in a way that suits.

Abi has a really unique practical approach that helps you retain vocab and gets you practicing what you've learned without you even realising it with games and activities she's devised. She's really friendly too which helps

Abigail has provided wonderful and engaging lessons for my 2 sons. The lessons have been clear and engaging and I’ve been able to see the progress they’ve made which is exactly what I’m after!

Abigail is absolutely wonderful with my kids. She is patient, and they are progressing well. It's a wonderful addition to our home education, working at both levels KS2 and KS3. Highly recommended! :)

She is such a good teacher she adapts to the person and makes each lesson exiting and I all ways look forward to our lessons and she is adorable

Abigail has taught French and Spanish to my children with enthusiasm. She used fun, games and songs which kept their interest and they didn’t feel like they were learning! She also got them through GCSE. Highly recommend.

Abigail helped our son with his GSCE French. She was patient, coaching him where he was struggling. The outcome...he passed the exam with a much better grade than he was predicted to get.

I've known Abi since our children attended the same ballet classes some 10 years ago now! My daughter needed some extra help to get her through her French GCSE. Abi was calm, so approachable and tailored her teaching style perfectly and discretely to best help. We felt every session added real value. I'd definitely recommend her.

Abigail is my tutor in French. I am 71 and never had the opportunity to formally learn anoyher language so its hard. Abigail's humour and patience combined with a professional approach has enabled me to get on the learning ladder, i'm in for the long haul.
Abigail, having lived in France, and has an understanding of the language and culture which enables her to untwist the linguisic knots creating an easier path to learning.
I am sure she could teach at any level.
