Every person has their own way of learning, this needs to be considered when tutoring. There should be no rush to learn a set amount by a set time, but I also believe that efficiency is key - structure is a must when it comes to making progress, and it's okay if it doesn't come first time around.
With goals in mind on what it is that you want accomplished after a session, you are more likely to get to where you want to be.
The structure and organisation of a tutoring session, should be worked out between the pupil and tutor, in a way that can be the most beneficial for their learning style.
