About Stephanie

As someone who struggled through school, specifically in math, I understand the frustration of struggling. In college, I had to work hard, but eventually received my degree in English. I started my career teaching seventh-grade reading and writing. I then taught 5th-grade reading for two years, and most recently taught 4th-grade ELA and science. I too was a good reader, but also struggled in comprehension. With both my personal and professional experience, I feel that I would be able to help you with your struggles. It's often easier to work with someone who has an understanding when they themselves have been through it.

About the lesson

My techniques include teaching comprehension in a way that students can understand. A lesson plan will include some reading, but lets work on things that are relevant to you. I am mainly for upper elementary and middle school students. In my past experience I was always able to stay relevant and make lessons fun with my students. Reading should not be mundane. It should be something you enjoy no matter what you are.level of reader
