About Tasha
I am a soon-to-be graduate of the University of York, where I studied English Literature. I have studied an array of different literature during my degree, from numerous periods and countries. My reading repertoire currently covers works of Medieval literature, Renaissance literature, 18th Century and Romantic literature, Victorian literature and modern/contemporary literature. I am about to undertake an MA in the Literature of the Romantic Period, as I have a particular interest in Gothic literature and women's writing of the period. I studied literature at GCSE and A Level, and so have a clear understanding of the requirements for such levels of study. I also choose to write poetry and fiction in my spare time, and have a developed knowledge of creative writing. As a current editor of a well established student publication, I also have experience in editing and sub-editing, and have experience writing in numerous styles and forms, for different readers and audiences.

My methodology is dependent on the student and their specific needs. My approach would initially be to find out where it is my student is at with their studies and what texts they are currently reading. Lesson content could include revision tips, writing techniques, analysis, discussion and debate, exam techniques, reading suggestions and more. I believe anyone can be great at English Literature provided they are given the correct tools and are allowed to explore their own thoughts and opinions. Once you've nailed the basic requirements, it becomes easier to see that English is a fun subject that gives you the chance to express yourself.
