About Emily
I have been tutoring for about two years. In addition to tutoring several college students in their academic writing, I also lead English structure study groups for a grad course. My study group students see marked improvement as I encourage them to ask questions, dig deeper into the material, and spend quality time actively learning.

My teaching method centers on the individual student and understanding what and how they need to learn. I actively pursue organized thinking, metacognition, and learning to work with yourself as a unique learner. I prefer to teach practically; I would rather actively use methods than simply teach terms. I will tutor K-12th grade and college, though my college tutoring would center more on format and technical grammar.
