About Diego
I have experience as a volunteer math tutor, supporting high school students in both English and Spanish. I completed the highest-level university preparation math courses in Ontario, where I particularly excelled in Advanced Functions and, Calculus and Vectors. These courses strengthened my analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, which I now apply when helping students understand complex concepts. Currently, I am pursuing an Electronic Engineering Technology program at Seneca Polytechnic, where I continue to develop strong mathematical and technical foundations.
Tengo experiencia como tutor voluntario de matemáticas, apoyando a estudiantes de secundaria tanto en inglés como en español. Completé los cursos de preparación universitaria de nivel más alto en Ontario, donde destaqué especialmente en Advanced Functions y Calculus and Vectors. My lessons are designed to help high school students in Ontario truly understand mathematics, not just memorize formulas. As someone who completed high school in Ontario, I understand the structure of the curriculum and the challenges students face — especially those whose first language is not English.
My teaching methodology is based on clarity, patience, and step-by-step explanation. I break down complex problems into simple parts and make sure students understand the reasoning behind each step. I also adapt my explanations depending on the student’s learning style, whether they prefer visual examples, guided practice, or detailed walkthroughs.
A typical lesson we would focus on current class topics, homework support, or preparation for quizzes and tests. I include practice problems during the session to build confidence and finish with a quick summary of key concepts.
What sets me apart is my bilingual support. I specialize in helping ESL and Latino American students who are adjusting to studying mathematics in English. I can explain concepts in both English and Spanish, helping students bridge language gaps while strengthening their math skills.
My lessons are ideal for:

Mis clases están diseñadas para ayudar a estudiantes de secundaria en Ontario a comprender verdaderamente las matemáticas, no solo memorizar fórmulas. Como graduado del sistema de high school en Ontario, conozco la estructura del currículo y los desafíos que enfrentan los estudiantes, especialmente aquellos cuyo primer idioma no es el inglés.
Mi metodología se basa en claridad, paciencia y explicación paso a paso. Divido problemas complejos en partes simples y me aseguro de que el estudiante entienda el razonamiento detrás de cada paso. También adapto mis explicaciones según el estilo de aprendizaje del alumno, ya sea con ejemplos visuales, práctica guiada o desarrollo detallado de ejercicios.
Una clase típica trabajaremos en los temas actuales de la clase, apoyo con tareas o preparación para exámenes y pruebas. Incluyo ejercicios prácticos durante la sesión para fortalecer la confianza y finalizamos con un resumen de los conceptos clave.
Lo que me diferencia es el apoyo bilingüe. Me especializo en ayudar a estudiantes ESL y latinoamericanos que están adaptándose a estudiar matemáticas en inglés. Puedo explicar los conceptos tanto en inglés como en español, ayudando a cerrar la brecha del idioma mientras fortalecemos las habilidades matemáticas.
