About Maya
I am an engineering student interested in biomedical engineering, and also a part time musician. I've been teaching music for around three years and work as a peer tutor at Tompkins Cortland Community College. I also make educational YouTube videos for fun!

As a peer tutor at a community college, I see all sorts of learners. I've learned to be open to a student's way of thinking and the tools they already have. I approach tutoring as guiding a student to use those tools their way rather than giving them the 'standard' method. In addition, I'm used to working with students from very different backgrounds and with their own different challenges. Sessions should not be another burden, but a way to work more efficiently so students can have time for all the important parts of their lives.
