About Catie
As an engineer, student athlete, and multi-year SWE intern, I know how to achieve the perfect balance between professional and personable. I am a firm believer that any of my students can grasp challenging concepts, we just need to work together to find an approach that fits them. I am a tutor because I love math and science, but more importantly because I have a passion for teaching.

In my six years of tutoring experience, I typically worked with students at the level of grade 5 to junior year of college in the subjects of math, physics, and coding.
I tailor my lessons to the needs of the students. For example, if a student needs help before an exam, I usually ask them to send me any review materials or HW assignments they have been given, so I can get a good idea of what they are expected to know for the test. From there, I use my time with the student to guide them through topics they struggle with and at the end of the lesson, I go over a study plan for the student leading up to the exam.
If a student comes to me because they are struggling with grasping the concepts of a course in general, I typically request they send me the topics before hand that they are working on, then I try to work them through several different approaches to problems until we find one that works for them.
