About Mark
I am an engineer who likes languages and music and sees the mathematical structures in both. I like to help people talk and think about mathematics in a way that helps break down the mental barriers that people often have; many times students are more than able to solve problems but need to be able to see them in a way that makes sense to them and once this can be done, the rest becomes much easier. This is the approach I like to take as it helps people develop their own view towards the subject which works for them.

I take the time to find the best ways of helping students learn which will differ from one student to another. I think that talking about problems before diving into the minutiae is a good way to help see the solution(s) develop without getting lost in the details. Typical lesson length is an hour but when it is helpful they can be a bit longer. I am happy to help students of all ages; I have helped primary students improve their maths as well as high school and university students.
