Many students get stuck because they memorize syntax (the "grammar" of code) but don't understand the logic (the "story"). My method is different because I treat you like a junior developer, not just a student. I focus on practical application over dry theory.
My Methodology
Logic First, Syntax Second: Before we write a single line of Java or SQL, we map out the solution. If you can't explain the logic, you can't write the code.
The "Debug-First" Approach: Beginners panic when they see red error messages. I teach you how to read stack traces and fix your own bugs -the most valuable skill a developer can have.
Clean Code Standards: I don't just accept code that "works." I teach you how to write code that is readable, efficient, and professional.
Typical Lesson Outline (60 Minutes)
Concept Breakdown (10 mins): We use a digital whiteboard to visualize the topic (e.g., how an SQL join works or how Objects interact).
Live Coding (30 mins): We open an IDE (IntelliJ/Eclipse) and write code together. I demonstrate the concept, then you type while I guide you.
Problem Solving (15 mins): I give you a specific challenge or "bug" to fix on your own to test your understanding.
Review (5 mins): We recap the key takeaways and set a mini-challenge for next time.
