About Leona
I am a college student, who is all about making learning as fun as possible! As an elementary education major, I definitely had my share of experiences where I knew this was for me! I tutored reading from when I was in high school, and then transitioned to tutoring math at the start of college, virtually as well! I fell in love with it! I love to teach so I’m going to make my future degree worth it by teaching your kiddos amazingly! A little more about me: During my free time I love to care for my plant, Shirley. Proud plant mom! I love to go on matcha runs with my roommates and play board games!

I am definitely a learning styles person so I like to make sure students understand verbally, visually and kinesthetically! A typical lesson would start off by greeting the student and quick catch up. Jump into a warm up of the problem area, then building from where we touched the previous lesson! I can build a personalized plan, listen to guardian input on where you would like us to touch in the lesson, listen to student input or do homework! I love to make math into games when it feels like you’re playing and not learning! Warning I’m super competitive
I think what sets me out, is that I am doing this for my personal growth as a future teacher in the classroom so I am going to get it right! I think students also tend to like me because I’m not perfect but we will work together and grow together. I’ve tutored elementary math mainly but also tutored high school level algebra as well, worked with kids from other countries and even adults!
