About Shayla
Hi! As a current student, I understand the struggles and pressures of performing well in academics. I have 7 years of experience working with youth. Throughout the years, I've learned new ways to explain different concepts and keep students engaged. I want to be able to connect with you so that we can find a middle ground to aid you in your understanding of the subject. I am also a teaching assistant for 2 college-level classes, where they are learning about the basics of economics. I learn new tips every day and try to apply different methods for every student, finding out what works best. I have been on the president's honor list for all 3 years at my university so far, I've also obtained a scholarship, and been a student of the week for my major. I strive for academic excellence myself, but I also know how difficult it can be. I hope to be a proper helping hand in your journey.

Hi! I am an economics major at CSU Long Beach and am currently a TA for principles of Microeconomics and Macroeconomics. I have experience helping students with college-level economics which can be applied at all academic levels. I have experience helping various peers with mathematics from middle school to high school, as I am also working toward a computer science minor. As for working with me, my main focus is ensuring you understand the content to apply it to any question or assessment. I like to try to explain the concepts in different ways that may be easier for you to understand. My primary goal is for you to understand what you are learning and how to apply it.
