About Oliver
Currently, I am a student at Newcastle University studying economics. Maths has always been a subject of great interest and importance to me and I love having the opportunity to transfer my knowledge of the subject having studied it myself. Studying economics and using maths daily has shown me just how applicable even the most abstract of concepts are. Having tutored maths during I have already had the chance to help people understand concepts that they might not have understood on their own, which is a great feeling. Regarding lesson structure, I would go through some pre-prepared examples in detail, then give the students some similar style questions and help them with any difficulties that they have. Personally, I feel that this is an engaging way of tutoring as it keeps students actively thinking and it allows easy identification of weaknesses. I aim to help students feel more confident with their maths skills and hopefully help them improve their results.
