About Bryony
Hello!
I am currently a student at Durham University and will be starting my study abroad teaching at a Spanish secondary school in Gran Canaria. As house captain for my previous school, I worked with many GCSE students who may have been nervous or felt they wanted a bit of peer support in our shared subjects. Over the past two years, I have tutored remotely and seen great exam success. As many students may feel anxious due to missing school years through Covid-19 lockdowns, I am here to help you succeed and reach your highest goals. At A level, I achieved 3 A grades in Spanish, French, and Politics. At GCSE, I achieved 4grade 7s, 3 grade 8s, and 4 grade 9s. I am currently on track for a first class degree with honours in Spanish, Classics, and Business. I will take your education as seriously as my own!

For foreign languages, we will spend 85-90% of the lesson speaking in the target language, this will really help with all aspects when it comes to exams. Each lesson will include a speed vocab round; we will add new words each week whilst still resisting past vocab, this will really solidify the knowledge and recall.
For all other subjects, we will dedicate between 25-50% of the time on questions you have found difficult at school or homework that needed improvement after teacher feedback. After that, past paper practice will be the key to your success! We will work in a hybrid manner where we begin with working through questions together and then a timed solo question for you on the same topic- this way we can check how you approach the question, time restrictions, and anything else that needs addressing. We do this to ensure that you feel both comfortable and prepared for exam environments!
Typically a lesson will be 1hr but we can arrange 2hr lessons after our initial contact, where we will discuss targets and current knowledge.
I am currently a student in my third year at Durham university; I am studying Spanish, Classics, and Business management. I have 2 years of remote tutoring experience and a Method of Instruction qualification for Btec instruction. I am also qualifying for my teaching English as a foreign language certificate, as this year I am working in a Spanish secondary school in Gran Canaria.
My lessons are aimed at GCSE level, this can be age 14-16. The exception to this will be in A-Level Spanish, French, or Politics.
I am also able to take students who are practicing for the 11+ exam.
