About Michael
I am a Doctoral Candidate and an Associate Lecturer at the University of London (Birkbeck College). I started teaching 4 years ago, as part of at Birkbeck and have tutored and provided learning support to students reading courses in International Political Economy and Childhood. So far my teaching experience has been great with fantastic feedback from students which has convinced me that when students get the needed support they can excel. I aim to enable my students to achieve great results through structured and interactive learning. My wider experience in both academia, across countries and also in various sectors of development work has also enabled me to bring context and meaning to the subjects that I teach and also to draw on concepts and explanations that meet the needs of my students. Before joining academia, I worked as an international development consultant for various United Nations (UN) agencies and spent seven years living and working in Ghana and the United States of America.
