Visual: Flashcards and wall charts.
Auditory: Clearly enunciating the sounds.
Kinesthetic: Tracing the letters in sand, air, or on slates.
The "Whole-Part-Whole" Method: I would often start with a complete sentence or phrase (Whole) that is relevant to them (e.g., "Mera naam Anjali hai"). Then, we break it down into its components (Part) like individual words, sounds, and grammar points. Finally, we put it back together into new, unique sentences (Whole again).
Use of Visual Aids: Everything would be paired with clear, colorful visuals. If we're learning about objects, pictures or the actual objects themselves would be used, always linking the Hindi word to the real thing, not just the English translation.
3. Practical Application: Hindi for Daily Life
The goal is communication, so students must be able to use the language.
Immersion and Classroom Language: The moment students step into the classroom, simple Hindi would be the main language used for common commands and phrases, such as "Baitho" (Sit), "Khade ho jao" (Stand up), "Shabaash!" (Bravo!). This makes Hindi the natural language of the environment.
Role-Play Scenarios: Students would practice Hindi through simple role-plays relevant to their world:
Ordering vegetables from a pretend vendor.
Introducing a family member.
Asking a friend for a pencil (Mujhe ek pencil do).
Show and Tell (Pradarshan Aur Bayaan): Students would be encouraged to bring an object and describe it in 3-5 simple Hindi sentences, building confidence in speaking in front of a group.
