About Derrick
I am a Music major, was previously a student at Kenyatta University. I have tutored students for 4 years mostly saxophone students. I have been in the music industry for almost 8 years both performing and teaching. I have mentored and taught quite a lot of people both high school and college going students. I have trained choirs and bands for the music festivals.

I am Derrick Obara, my stage name is the Afro-Phonist. I love socializing and getting to know people especially when we relate musically. I am geared towards students who are passionate about music, the must have an aim to why they want to learn music. My lessons will be based on sight reading, improvisation, techniques, aural tests, theory about the instrument and also performance aspects of the instrument.
