About Bisan
I’m an Arabic tutor who genuinely enjoys helping people feel confident with the language, whether they’re complete beginners or advanced students working through academic texts. My experience is broad: I’ve taught graduate and undergraduate students at The New School, and I spent four years teaching high-school students in international schools where Arabic was their first language. I’ve also worked with elementary and middle-school learners who were just beginning to read, write, and build their vocabulary. I use a clear, structured three-level curriculum that takes students step by step from the alphabet to fluent reading, solid grammar, and meaningful conversation. I keep my lessons organized but relaxed, and I always make sure students understand why something works, not just how to memorize it. What students appreciate most is that I’m patient, supportive, and straightforward. I explain things in a way that feels approachable, and I adjust my pace based on each person’s comfort level. My goal is to make Arabic feel less intimidating and more like a skill you can truly master with the right guidance. I teach Arabic in a clear, step-by-step way that adapts to each student’s level. I use a structured three-level curriculum that takes learners from the alphabet and basic reading all the way to strong grammar, writing, and conversation. With university students, I also bring in academic texts, translation practice, and guided speaking to help them feel confident in class.
A typical lesson starts with a quick review, then moves into new material, whether it’s learning letters, practicing reading, building vocabulary, or working through grammar together. I always end with a short activity so the student leaves feeling like they made real progress.
What sets me apart is that I’ve taught a wide range of learners: graduate students, undergraduates, and younger K–8 students who are just getting started with Arabic. I know how to adjust the pace and style so lessons feel supportive, manageable, and encouraging.
My lessons work well for complete beginners, heritage speakers, school-age learners, and university students who need extra help with reading, writing, or coursework. My goal is to make Arabic accessible, structured, and genuinely enjoyable to learn.
