About Liz
My name is Liz McKinnon, I am a professional artist located in North Carolina. I have 20 years of experience as an artist, and over a decade of teaching the arts. I enjoy sharing all of the things I have learned the hard way. I do my best to ease the anxiety that can come from new mediums or the stress of learning a new subject. My goal is to give you plenty of time to practice before our time is up, you retain knowledge best when you are actively practicing.

I prefer to start off my lessons by verbalizing the process, and follow up by showing the visual process. When I'm teaching art classes I like to move through the first two quickly and then turn the materials to the client to apply hands-on.
Lesson plans are built based on what people would like to study and practice. I have a lesson plan for Visual Arts and a lesson plan for the English Arts and Women's Studies. I approach the lesson plans with the same goal, to give them the opportunity to spend the majority of a session practicing a concept, technique, etc.
My lessons are for High School, College, Personal Development (adult), Artists
