About Carla
I am a visual artist, a graduate of the Universidad Nacional de Colombia, specializing in media art, with experience in various art programming projects developed both within my degree program and in external and/or personal contexts.
This ongoing development experience is combined with my pedagogical background in leading workshops on these tools. This allows me to understand how to adapt my methodology to both the technical and conceptual needs of the project, as well as to each student's individual pace.
In artistic terms, I work extensively at the intersection of technology and expression, understanding these tools not as rigid software programs for simply creating an interface or interaction based on mere technical necessity, but as a malleable medium in which any conceptual intention can be expressed. In this technological realm, often perceived as something cold, I see an opportunity to imbue it with human warmth and a coherent and conceptually sustainable artistic expression.

Personalized creative coding and programming classes for the arts (based on Processing, Hydra, and Arduino), taught by a visual artist specializing in media art, a graduate of the Universidad Nacional de Colombia.
The classes are designed as a meeting point between the possibilities of programming and the artistic and conceptual investigations of the arts, where code (Processing), electronics and sensors (Arduino), and the manipulation of digital signals and visual synthesizers (Hydra) can be used as raw materials to materialize ideas and projects.
The goal is to guide students through a process of experimentation: starting from the most rigid programming techniques and progressing to viewing the algorithm as a form of expression.
My classes can be:
- Focused on all three tools or just one (among Processing, Hydra, and Arduino up to an intermediate level).
- Hybrid: combining programming techniques with processes of artistic conceptualization and theorizing.
- Support and guidance for creating or developing art projects using programming.
