About Andrea
Hello! My name is Andrea and I am q freshman at Cornell University studying Environment and Sustainability. I have tutored since my freshman year of high school in English, ESL English, Math, and Korean for grades K-12. I am an active tutor having worked as a private tutor, but also for nonprofit organizations as well for which I have earned the Gold President's Volunteer Service Award. With my extensive experience tutoring students of all ages, areas, and needs, I am confident in my ability to tailor my teaching to my student perfectly!

I can teach from all grade levels K-12, and have completed up to Calculus level math. In terms of english, I am experienced in both regular and ESL level english, and have taught general reading and comprehension skills, as well as essay-writing. As a science major in a STEM magnet high school, I have studied Chemistry, Biology, and Physics for at least two years each. I am also very well versed in standardized college testing because I have prepared for both the SAT and ACT (received a 35 on the ACT, which is equivalent to a 1560-90 on the SAT), so I can teach valuable techniques for both.
While my lesson plans tend to vary based on the goals of my student, I keep an ordered schedule to make sure that the student stays on track with their school material. In the case that the student is preparing for the SAT or ACT, I generally prepare the student in the weeks preceding the test by having them complete one full test every week. With the student, I collect all of their incorrect answers so that the week of the test, we make sure to review anything the student may have struggled on in the past. I teach time management techniques for this form of testing, as well as other test-taking strategies.
