About Christina
I’m a passionate Tutor and Private Teacher with over 12 years of experience working with students of every age. I began my love for teaching as a child, watching my mom work as a University Professor. I watched (and sometimes assisted) as she graded papers, planned lessons, had musical exam prep sessions where she awarded correct answers with Twizzler candy, and showed everyone the joys of being a teacher. She was everything I hope to be as a Teacher. I have to say I learned from the best. As a Tutor and Private Teacher, following in her footsteps, I commit myself to being a reliable friend for my students and making sure they can count on me to help them make the important facts, concepts, and theories stick in their minds. I have secret ways to help them unintentionally get excited to participate in class, and before you know it, they’ll be fully used to asking the right questions in class, taking notes well, and being in a homework and studying routine.

Students will remember the 1:1 lessons I share with them to help make their classroom subjects come alive. I make anchor charts for students to have easy to remember key points in infographic form. It is theirs to keep so they know where to look if they have a question later. If a student is a kinesthetic learner, we are going to physically act out the topic or build something together. If the student is an auditory learner, we will recite memorable poems or sing songs to really get the information in those brain cells. My students who are visual learners also have fully engaging sessions with me and feel certain about their topics in class thereafter. Visualize learners will enjoy their sessions with me as we paint, read, or work out problems of all sizes together.
All of my students always know I am on their side and that I know they are smart, talented, and fully capable of greatness. I’m so proud of all of my students. I really work to be sure their confidence and classroom participation grows as their grades improve.
