About Sam
Hi! I’m Sam, a college student studying biology and chemistry with a strong interest in healthcare. I’ve always enjoyed working with students and helping them feel more confident when they are struggling with a subject. Through my tutoring experience and working with children in different settings, I’ve learned how important patience, encouragement, and clear communication are. I’m especially comfortable helping with algebra and science, and I enjoy finding different ways to explain a concept until it finally clicks. I’m friendly, dependable, and understanding, and I want my students to feel comfortable asking questions without feeling embarrassed. My goal is not only to help students improve their grades, but also to help them become more confident and independent learners.

My approach as a tutor is patient, supportive, and personalized to each student’s learning style. I focus on breaking down difficult algebra and science concepts into smaller, easy-to-understand steps rather than simply giving answers. I encourage students to ask questions, work through problems with me, and build confidence in their abilities.
A typical lesson begins by reviewing what the student is currently learning and identifying any areas they are struggling with. We then work through examples together, practice similar problems, and finish by reviewing the key concepts to make sure the student feels comfortable working independently. I can also provide homework help, test preparation, and additional practice.
What sets me apart is my ability to explain concepts in different ways until they make sense. I understand that every student learns differently, so I adjust my teaching style based on their needs and pace. My lessons are designed for middle school and high school students who need support with algebra, biology, chemistry, or general science. I aim to make learning less stressful and help students feel more confident in their classes.
