I see tutoring as a collaborative process, not a one-way transfer of information. My role is to help students understand how to think, not just what to memorize. I adapt every lesson to the learner’s pace, goals, and confidence level, making sure concepts truly click before moving on. Learning works best when students feel comfortable and supported.
A Typical Lesson Plan:
-Check-in (5 minutes)
Quick discussion to see how the student is feeling and what they want to focus on.
-Review (5–10 minutes)
Revisiting previous material to reinforce understanding and identify gaps.
-New Concept Introduction
Clear explanation using step-by-step logic, visuals, or examples.
-Guided Practice
Working through exercises together, encouraging the student to explain their thinking.
-Independent Practice
The student applies the concept with my support as needed.
-Wrap-up and Reflection
Summary of key points, questions answered, and goals set for next time — with Gracie usually present to keep things relaxed and positive.
