About Kev
I am an experienced tutor specialising in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Macroeconomics and Financial Management for school, college, university foundation and early university-level students.
For many years, I have supported students from British, international and Swiss education systems. I work with students who need help understanding difficult concepts, improving calculation skills, preparing for examinations, repeating a module or aiming for a stronger grade.
My lessons are clear, structured and adapted to each student’s individual level. I explain every topic step by step, using practical examples, financial data, diagrams, calculations and exam-style questions.
In Accounting, I support students with topics such as double-entry bookkeeping, debits and credits, ledger accounts, trial balances, financial statements, depreciation, accruals, cash flow and financial ratios.
In Finance and Financial Management, I help students understand interest calculations, present and future value, investment appraisal, net present value, sources of finance, working capital, budgeting, risk and return, cost of capital and financial decision-making.
In Economics and Macroeconomics, I support students with inflation, unemployment, economic growth, interest rates, exchange rates, fiscal policy, monetary policy, international trade, national income and the wider effects of economic decisions.
A major strength of my teaching is helping students connect theory with practical application. Students learn not only the formula or definition, but also when to use it, how to complete the calculation correctly and how to explain what the final result means.
I completed my Master’s degree at a technical university of applied sciences in Switzerland, with a strong focus on Finance, Economics, Business Information Technology and Mathematics.
My studies combined financial and economic knowledge with quantitative methods, business analysis, digital systems and structured problem-solving. This academic background is particularly valuable when teaching subjects that require accurate calculations, interpretation of financial information and logical decision-making.
I combine this academic background with many years of practical teaching experience. This allows me to adapt each lesson to the student’s course, current knowledge, learning pace, examination requirements and personal academic goals.
Students receive support with theory, calculations, diagrams, data interpretation and written answers. I help them understand what a question is asking, select the correct method, organise their working clearly and present a well-supported conclusion.
My goal is to help students move from confusion to understanding, from uncertain calculations to clear methods and from incomplete answers to confident, well-structured responses.
