About Romela
Hello! I’m Romela, a Chemistry tutor with a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry and an MPhil in Biotechnology. My academic background has given me a strong understanding of Chemistry, particularly Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry and the chemical principles underlying biological processes.
I enjoy helping students move beyond memorising equations and reactions by showing them how Chemistry fits together. My lessons are structured around understanding concepts, developing problem-solving skills and learning how to approach unfamiliar questions with confidence.
I teach students from different academic backgrounds and support learners following GCSE/IGCSE, A-Level, IB and university-level courses. I can also help students with Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry and Chemistry topics related to Biotechnology and the life sciences.
Every student learns differently, so I adapt my explanations and practice activities to their individual level and goals. Whether you need to strengthen your fundamentals, prepare for an examination, improve your problem-solving skills or work through challenging Organic Chemistry topics, I will provide structured and personalised support.
I aim to create a comfortable learning environment where students can ask questions freely, learn from mistakes and gradually become more confident in tackling Chemistry independently.

My Chemistry lessons are designed to make difficult concepts clear, logical and easier to apply. I focus on understanding rather than memorisation, helping students build a strong foundation and develop the confidence to solve questions independently.
I begin by identifying the student's current level, learning goals and areas of difficulty. Each lesson is then tailored to their needs and may include clear explanations, diagrams, worked examples, guided questioning and practice problems.
For students preparing for examinations, I use exam-style questions, past papers, mark schemes and targeted practice to help them understand how to apply their knowledge and avoid common mistakes. We can also create a structured revision plan for students working towards an upcoming exam.
I can support students with GCSE/IGCSE, A-Level, IB and university-level Chemistry, including General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry and topics related to Biochemistry and Biotechnology.
With a Bachelor's background in Biochemistry and an MPhil in Biotechnology, I have a strong foundation in Chemistry and its connection to the biological sciences. This is particularly useful for students who need help understanding areas such as organic chemistry, biomolecules, biochemical reactions and molecular processes.
Whether you are struggling with a particular topic, preparing for an examination, catching up with your coursework or looking for ongoing support, I will adapt the lessons to your level and goals.
