About Greeshma
As a recent chemical engineering postgraduate, academics have long been a passion of mine. I enjoy tutoring chemistry, physics, and maths as a fulfilling side hustle. My motivation stems from a desire to assist driven students who require some extra guidance grasping complex scientific subjects. Having navigated a highly demanding STEM degree programme myself, I can easily empathise with feeling overwhelmed by abstract concepts. My approach as a tutor is to take the time to methodically break things down using visual models, real-world analogies and plenty of practice problems. I assist students of all aptitudes in developing an intuitive comprehension backed by a strong foundation. My background as a chemical engineer provides me insight into principles across chemistry, physics and maths disciplines. Students appreciate how I interrelate concepts across subject boundaries in order to cement holistic understanding. My personable and patient style offers struggling learners much needed support amidst rigorous curriculums. I take a genuine interest in each student’s unique perspective and goals. While I hold my pupils to high standards, I celebrate small wins and mastery milestones throughout our journey together. I am an experienced tutor providing lessons in chemistry, physics, and mathematics. My speciality is chemistry, where I employ proven techniques to help students deeply comprehend chemical principles, equations, stoichiometry, atomic structure, thermodynamics, and more. Lessons typically involve hands-on molecular model manipulations, real-world examples to reinforce concepts, as well as practice problems tailored to the student's level. In physics, I focus on translating complex physical systems and processes into graspable diagrams, models, and step-by-step explanations regarding motion, energy, electricity, and beyond. My approach aims to demystify the foundations of physics through application and problem-solving. As mathematics underlies both chemistry and physics, I also provide dedicated maths tutoring to strengthen competency in arithmetic, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and calculus. Lessons centre around comprehending connections between mathematical concepts, undoing problematic gaps in knowledge, and building confidence through practice. With over 3 years of combined chemistry, physics and maths tutoring experience from middle school through college levels, I excel at identifying individual sticking points and patiently imparting understanding.
