About Rachael

Hi, I’m Rachael, a dedicated and experienced maths & science tutor with a strong academic background in mathematics and science. Having achieved top grades in GCSE Maths & Sciences and at A-Level, alongside a BSc in Neuroscience from Queen Mary University of London, I have a deep understanding of mathematical & scientific concepts and problem-solving techniques. With over six years of experience tutoring 11+ students, I specialise in building confidence and developing strong numerical skills in my students. My approach is tailored to each learner, ensuring they grasp key concepts and excel in exams. Whether it’s preparing for entrance exams or boosting overall performance, I’m committed to making learning accessible and enjoyable. Let’s work together to achieve success in maths!

About the lesson

With over 8 years of tutoring experience, I specialise in helping students excel in mathematics, science, and music, particularly for 11+ entrance exams. My background in Neuroscience (BSc) and my strong performance in GCSE and A-Level Maths enable me to teach complex concepts clearly and effectively. My teaching approach is student-centred, focusing on making difficult topics accessible through step-by-step explanations and real-life examples. I emphasise exam preparation with targeted practice, time management strategies, and problem-solving techniques. By encouraging active participation and building students' confidence, I ensure that each learner progresses at their own pace while achieving their academic goals. I am well-versed in a variety of subjects, with a specialisation in mathematics (GCSE and A-Level), science (biology, chemistry, physics), and music (Grade 5 piano). My aim is to make learning both enjoyable and rewarding, guiding students towards success and fostering a lifelong love for learning.
