About Sonia
I am a Sinologist and illustrator. I teach Italian and Chinese online in a Language institute, I work as a linguistic mediator with refugees and I like to create stories and illustrations about everything that inspires me. I'm based in Puglia where I live in a trullo country house with my lovely black cat Durga. I used to live abroad for 15 years before going back to Puglia and now I am living my dream: to have an online job and a place in the countryside surrounded by olive trees. Sometimes especially in wintertime Puglia is a little boring and when I can I go to Paris which is my second home or I travel around. I feel happy when I can share experiences with people from different cultures therefore I find teaching languages terribly enriching. This job for me is a "finestra sul mondo", "window on the world" which means that even if I'm in Italy I can still be connected with people from other places in the world

My lessons are custom made according to your needs and your level. I'm practice focused which means I don't care if your grammar is not perfect. For me there are three important things in language learning: 1- don't get frustrated 2-speak, speak, speak no matter what 3-have fun Languages are made for communication. Our goal is to be able to give a message to someone. Moreover we also need to have a knowledge of the culture, language is not separated from cultural habits and I will be there to help you.
