About Sizwe
I'm not just a tutor—I'm a scientist, strategist, and your partner in academic breakthroughs. With a BSc in Chemistry and an Honours degree in progress at Wits, I bring university-level rigour to every session—backed by seven years of turning confusion into clarity, one learner at a time.
I chose teaching because I saw bright students defeated not by a lack of ability, but by complex ideas buried under jargon, fast-paced lessons, and too little time to truly think. I became the bridge. Over the years, I've guided learners across all levels—from those who feared Maths and Science to those chasing distinctions—through both NSC and IEB exams. Students who listen and apply my advice don't just pass; they surge. My track record speaks through improved grades, renewed confidence, and a lasting interest in STEM.
I know the CAPS curriculum and IEB standards inside out—not just studied them, but taught them and broken them into clear, actionable steps. What sets me apart is connection. Fluent in English, IsiZulu, SeSotho, and Setswana, I meet learners where they are—linguistically and academically. My sessions are interactive, question-driven, and focused on real application, because theory without problem-solving falls short.
I don't just prepare you for exams—I prepare you for excellence. I expect a minimum 10% improvement per term and help you build a realistic, personalised study plan to get there. I don't just teach subjects; I teach thinkers. If you're ready to ask "why," challenge yourself, and rise—I'm ready to take you there.
Because your potential isn't a mystery. It's just waiting for the right guide.

5 hours a week in class just isn't enough for Maths & Science—I've seen it firsthand. Schools load you with notes but give little time to actually apply what you've learned. Whether you're struggling or keeping up, we all hit that same wall.
That's where I come in—as your catalyst. I don't just teach content; I teach problem-solving. Every session is built around past exam papers, because exam success isn't about memorising—it's about mastering application. I break every question down to its fundamental roots, showing you the why behind the how. You'll learn to think, not just repeat.
My sessions are interactive, energetic, and question-obsessed—ask me "WHY" and you'll make my day! We talk, question, solve, and laugh along the way. I switch seamlessly between English, IsiZulu, SeSotho, and Setswana—so language is never a barrier.
A typical session starts with a quick recap of previous wins. Then we dive deep into key concepts with clear, simple visuals. Next, we tackle real past paper questions together, step-by-step, with me guiding your thinking. You then practice independently with a fresh question while I coach you through it. I always wrap up with a summary, your wins, and clear next steps for the week ahead.
I work with Grade 10, 11, and 12 learners at any level—from building a strong foundation to chasing distinctions.
Your first session is FREE—no pressure, just a chance to meet, assess your needs, map your goals, and see if we're the right fit. You've got nothing to lose and everything to gain. Let's turn confusion into confidence—together.

Sizwe was my Physical Sciences tutor and Mathematics tutor for part of my grade 11 and my matric year. He's very patient, throws in some jokes to make learners comfortable and participate in class. He was easily accessible on the phone and it made it easier to communicate when you had problems regarding homework about certain topics. His passion also made me fall in love with chemistry, how he taught it, how he broke down each question simplified those subjects for us. Overall Sizwe is an amazing tutor.
Sizwe used to tutor my kids, he makes sure the kids understand before moving on to a new topic, my kids passed when he used to tutor them, he was great help.
Sizwe and I knew each other at an NPO called Thukema. He was my tutor for Chemistry, Physics, and Maths for two full years.
He's the best in the game. He didn't just teach; he also helped us with varsity applications, and because of him, I managed to secure a space at Wits University for Mechanical Engineering.
No words can describe how good he is. He created an atmosphere for each and every one of us. I will always be grateful.
I have known Sizwe since high school, where he tutored us in Matric, Chemistry. He was recommended by our Physical Science teacher because of how good he was at the subject, and he is also a Pro Maths alumnus. Before he started tutoring me, I had never achieved a distinction in Physical Science, but with his assistance and guidance, I was able to achieve one in Matric.
Sizwe tutored me in Chemistry throughout high school, Thutolore, and played a big role in helping me understand the subject. His assistance also contributed to my decision to pursue Chemistry alongside Materials Science at Wits. Even after high school, he continued helping me, including with my third-year Organic Chemistry module, which I found particularly challenging.
I highly recommend Sizwe because he is knowledgeable, patient and genuinely knows how to teach. He does not simply give you answers; he makes sure you understand the concepts and can apply them yourself. His ability to simplify difficult topics makes him an excellent tutor for students who may struggle with maths , chemistry or simply want to improve their understanding.
What I like most about Sizwe's teaching style is how clear and understandable his notes and explanations are. His explanations are remarkable because he has a way of breaking down complicated concepts until they seem very simple—and you eventually realise that they actually are. He makes learning feel much less intimidating.
The experience that stands out the most was being taught by him in Matric and eventually achieving a distinction in Physical Science. I had never achieved a distinction before, so seeing the improvement after his assistance was really rewarding and showed me how effective his teaching was.View more recommendations
