About Jannat
Hi! I’m a friendly, bubbly and enthusiastic tutor with around 8 years of tutoring experience. I have a BSc in Biomedical Science and an MSc in Brain Imaging & Cognitive Neuroscience.
I love making learning fun, relaxed and something to look forward to! I’m patient, approachable and always happy to explain things in different ways until they click. My aim is to help every student feel confident, comfortable and proud of their progress.
I bring a professional and well-prepared approach to every lesson, but I also believe there should be plenty of smiles and a few laughs along the way!

I have around 8 years of tutoring experience and take a friendly, patient and personalised approach to teaching. I tailor each lesson to the student’s individual needs, current level and academic goals.
Before starting, I ask parents or tutees to provide me with a list of topics or areas they would like the lessons to focus on. This allows me to plan each session carefully and ensure that the content is relevant to what the student needs most. I prepare structured lessons that combine clear explanations, discussion, examples and practice questions.
I break down challenging topics into manageable sections and encourage students to ask questions throughout the lesson. I also use active recall, exam-style questions and regular knowledge checks to strengthen understanding and improve long-term retention.
Lessons typically last 60 minutes, although I can be flexible depending on the student’s age, level and requirements. Where appropriate, I provide homework or additional practice questions after each lesson to reinforce what has been covered. I also use homework and regular progress checks to identify areas that may need further attention in future sessions.
I hold a BSc in Biomedical Science and an MSc in Brain Imaging and Cognitive Neuroscience, alongside professional experience working as a scientist. Combined with my 8 years of tutoring experience, this allows me to bring both strong academic knowledge and practical teaching experience to my lessons.
I tutor students across a range of levels, including SATs, GCSE English, Maths and Science, A Level Biology and English Language, and degree-level Biology. I aim to create a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and developing their confidence.
