About Skye
My name is Skye, I am a Zimbabwean-born astrophysics graduate, and elite level cyclist. My whole life I’ve been juggling competitive sports and school/university, so I’ve learned firsthand the importance of understanding what it is you’re learning, and also the confidence boost you get when you’re finally able to solve complex problems. I want to be able to help other young adults do the same, and realise that just because a subject is difficult, doesn’t mean you can’t do it. We can all learn the skills and approaches required to become good at maths and physics - but it does take practice and some effort - all of which is made easier having the right teacher beside you to walk you through it.

Every student has their own way of learning, and I tailor sessions to your individual needs. We can go through lessons at your own pace, and I make sure to go through the basics first by explaining the underlying concepts qualitatively, before moving on to practicing questions. We build up the questions as well, starting with more straightforward ones to develop the skill for it, and then progressing as soon as you’re ready to the more challenging ones. I encourage you to ask questions and share anything that’s still unclear to you.

Skye tutored my son for his Matric level physics and mathematics last year. The subjects were a worry to him hence us deciding to seek help. Skye was recommended and struck up a rapport really quickly with my son - not necessarily easy with a 17 year old boy! She was always punctual, proactive and encouraging, managing to make the time engaging and informative even when lessons were long and difficult. He received an A for physics (up from a B at mocks) and a B for maths (up from a C). This has assured him University Entrance standards. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this young lady.
