About Anna

I have taken piano and clarinet lessons since I was 5, and vocal lessons since I was 13. I have won over 10 awards for my music performances, as well as been featured in state-level competitions. I performed in two leading roles with Lisle High's musical theater department, and was featured numerous times with the Jazz Ensemble on vocals. While I don't have any sort of degree, music has quite literally been my life.

I give lessons to anyone who aspires to be a good musician but just can't seem to get the science of it. I don't have much teaching experience, however I know theory like the back of my hand. I believe that lessons should move at the pace of the learner- while I will suggest outside practice, I don't believe in penalties for not having time outside of lessons. I am not a tutor for someone who is working on their musical Ph.D. I am a tutor for beginning musicians who would like to dip their toes in, or intermediate ones who are looking for a little more knowledge expansion.

For general instruction and theory questions, my rate is $30. I also offer beginning/intermediate clarinet and piano lessons. Rates for those start at $30 an hour for beginners and go up depending on the intensity of instruction required. I generally accept payment in cash or check after the lesson, however you may pre-pay if you like! I would appreciate a 24 hour cancellation notice, but there is no financial penalty if you have to cancel later than that.
