About Josh
Hi! I’m a friendly and enthusiastic young musician who loves sharing the joy of music. I’ve been playing the violin for over ten years and was awarded an ATCL with Distinction. I originally held an offer to study at the Royal Academy of Music, but ended up heading to the University of Oxford for my undergraduate degree instead. Now I’m excited to be starting postgraduate studies at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland! I’ve always had a passion for chamber music, and have taken part in courses with MusicWorks and Pro Corda, learning from some of the country’s leading chamber musicians. Alongside the violin, I also play the viola, piano and trumpet, and have a keen interest in music theory; all to Grade 8 standard. Before that, I sang as a treble with the Trinity Boys Choir, performing in prestigious enues like the Royal Albert Hall and Pisa Cathedral, and even recording at Abbey Road for major film soundtracks. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to build on your skills, I’d love to help you grow in confidence and find real joy in making music!

Hi! I'm a 21-year-old postgraduate student at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, offering affordable violin, viola and music theory/score study lessons to people of all ages up to Grade 8 standard. I get real joy out of tailoring the lessons to the student, whether that be improving just to play for fun or delving deeper into technical aspects and wider musicianship. A typical lesson length would be between 30-60 minutes, but I am always willing to be flexible! I enjoy teaching all ages and abilities, and I look forward to hearing from you to organise our first sessions!
