About Curtis
I am a fifth-year medical student at the University of Cambridge, Queens' College, holding a BA degree in Biochemistry. This academic background has equipped me with a passion for science as well as first-hand, current knowledge about the admissions processes to medical schools. My results-driven attitude gives students the knowledge, strategies, and confidence to stand out in a highly competitive admissions process from GCSE to A level to university applications. From prior learning and past tutoring, I have plenty of pre-prepared lectures and resources for students. For university applications, this includes resources that got me medical school offers from Cambridge, Imperial, UCL and Bristol. Qualifications: - GCSE: 7 A*s and 1 9 and 3 As at GCSE - A-level: 4 A*s in Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics & Economics I achieved competitive scores in the UCAT (3000+) and BMAT (6.5 and 7.7 in sections 1 and 2 respectively) and can provide tips and tricks that will propel your exam performance into exceptional scores. My approach to teaching is student-led, I like to find out the most conducive technique to engaging the student whether it be focused on answering questions, lecturing or dialogic teaching. I like to encourage discussion to develop critical thinking skills in the tutored subject, akin to Oxbridge supervisions. My teaching is tailored, with support on structuring revision and refining exam technique, aiming to strengthen your weaker areas. I welcome receiving constant feedback from students to adapt my teaching, having honest discussions of how they can get the most out of our sessions. I have plenty of pre-prepared lectures and resources for students. For university applications, this includes resources that got me medical school offers from Cambridge, Imperial, UCL and Bristol.
