About Lizzie
I am a 21 y/o student at the RNCM, and have been playing the violin for almost 15 years. I first started with my dad teaching me from the age of 7, and achieved my first Grade 8 at 12.
I properly started to really enjoy my music experience when I attended Junior RNCM in 2016, and it really opened my eyes to the enjoyments of what being a professional musician could bring.
I am part of a few chamber groups, including the Hathersage Quartet and Trio Avella (both set up within my time at the RNCM). This year (2023), I have also performed the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto with the Sheffield Chamber Orchestra, and plan to perform the Bruch Violin Concerto with the Boyce Orchestra (based in Doncaster) and the Chesterfield Symphony Orchestra in the Spring of 2024.
A main reason I would like to get into teaching is because I would like to share my love and passion for music with others, and encourage them in finding their love for it too. I was brought up really not understanding the joys it could bring, and I'd love to share the joy I now receive when being a part of such a universal art.

Now, having been taught by several professionals, my methodology has one particular focus- to have fun and encourage enjoyment around the subject of music. Violin/viola technique is something I take quite seriously, and with a free, relaxed arm, it can encourage a more natural, fluid movement and expression.
My lesson lengths will vary based on the current pupil and how long they would like.
I am a first-time 1-1 teacher, however have had experience with teaching/managing young children through my conservatoire.
I would teach anyone at any level, as I would like to be as flexible as possible!
