About Joseph
Hi, I am a 17-year-old student at St Ambrose College and I have experience tutoring younger students, both within my school and privately. I have supported students with KS3 Maths and successfully tutored students preparing for 11+ exams, helping them achieve excellent results.
Throughout my tutoring, my experiences have taught me how to adapt my teaching style to each student’s level, strengths, and learning style.
I do not discriminate based on intelligence — I believe every student can succeed with the right support, encouragement, and teaching methods. My lessons are both friendly and professional, available online via Zoom or in-person at my home.

My teaching focuses on building understanding, not just memorising formulae or procedures by heart. I help students grasp the underlying concepts in Maths so they can confidently tackle any type of question — even tricky, “twisted” problems — and apply their knowledge in new situations. I also aim to develop a strong foundation for future learning, preparing students for GCSE and beyond.
My lessons are structured but flexible, usually lasting anywhere from 60 - 90 minutes, but can be adjusted depending on the student’s needs. I use a mix of explanations, worked examples, guided practice, and problem-solving exercises to ensure students truly understand concepts rather than just following steps by rote.
